Pinewood Studios has a number of projects coming forward over the next few years to maintain and grow its position in the film/TV industry.
These projects will include schemes on sites within the existing boundary of the studio, as well as those evolving from the permitted PSDF and Screen Hub UK permissions.

A full planning application has been submitted to Buckinghamshire Council for a new multi-storey car park and ground floor workshop within the existing Pinewood Studios site. The 1,200 space multi-storey car park will replace what is currently a surface level car park with 370 parking spaces, providing around an additional 830 spaces to address parking demand in the Studios.
The new car park will redirect vehicles to the Pinewood East roundabout, to the north of the main entrance, which will reduce queueing that can currently be experienced on Pinewood Road. New, dedicated short term parking bays for HGVs requiring registration would be provided within the new car park to provide a holding space within the Studios site to further minimise congestion on Pinewood Road at peak hours.
The new car park will provide an additional 830 parking spaces for Pinewood’s staff, tenants and visitors. The new car park is located just steps away from Pinewood’s inner security turnstiles, making it the most attractive location to park, which should have a beneficial impact on local roads where incidents of overspill parking have been reported. We are also exploring opportunities to create a designated taxi waiting area, to remove any need for taxis to wait off-site. Toilet facilities are also included on the ground floor of the car park, meaning waiting drivers can also make use of facilities while waiting for their customers.
The application includes 15 covered cycle parking spaces in addition to the provision already in place across the Studios site, with showers and changing facilities at the ground floor of the new car park to make active travel more accessible for those visiting and working at the Studios.
We are committed to national and local sustainable development measures, both through the design and operation process. The ground floor workshop would be entirely served by electric energy through the inclusion of air source heat pumps. The car park would also include the provision of accessible car parking spaces and electric vehicle charging points.
There is limited landscaping on the current surface car park site and the proposals offer a real opportunity to enhance and establish new, native planting to improve biodiversity. A new woodland planted landscape bund would be incorporated to filter views of the new car park from Pinewood Road, whilst semi-mature trees and refreshed planting beds are proposed to create an attractive entrance to Pinewood West.
A full planning application was submitted to Buckinghamshire Council in November 2022 for a new feature wall and soft illuminated signage within the Pinewood Studios site (reference numbers are PL/22/3400/FA and PL/22/3410/AV). This would replace the existing sign for Pinewood Studios East to refresh and modernise this entrance. An image to show how this could look is included on this page.

A planning application was submitted to Buckinghamshire Council in November 2022 for advertisement content for the installation of five new signs within the Pinewood Studios site (reference number is PL/22/3399/AV). This would include two backlit signs (called ‘illuminated Flexface lightboxes’) to Stage 4 and three to Stage 8. An image to show how the three signs could look on Stage 8 is included on this page.
